5 Things you MUST to Know about Punta Cana

4:41 PM

We went to Punta Cana for our honeymoon and it was amazing! If you're thinking about visiting this beautiful country - I recommend it! Here are some things you MUST know!
1. Tipping at most all-inclusive resorts is not included.
All-inclusive resorts are so amazing! Food and drinks are already included and you don't have to pay for extra! If you've ever gone to a public beach, you know it can be a hassle to find somewhere to rinse sand off, restrooms, and food. However, at an all-inclusive the resort provides somewhere close by for rinsing off, chairs, shaded areas, food, and entertainment on and off the water.

 2. Take cash.
While most of your activities are already paid for, tipping is not one of them. I highly recommend taking cash with you. The resort staff appreciate American cash more than the native currency. Tipping is greatly appreciated by the staff members and they are kind. This will save you money by avoiding the ATM fees.

3. You don't have to speak a lot of spanish
In places like Punta Cana where they receive many people from the states, they are used to people not speaking the native tongue (Spanish) so don't worry about it!
4. Try the excursions
We did two excursions - one was a boat to an Island and the other was riding buggies. It was a great way to see more of the beautiful country, their exports, and their people.

5. Affordable
Punta Cana is affordable such a beautiful country and there are crazy deals that help make this kind of trip affordable with packages. This type of vacation is so relaxing and perfect way to reward yourself. You can go for a week or six days for around $1500 (per person) including airfare, stay, food, and drinks - that's about $215 a day! I mean for that total - you could only buy a plane ticket to Europe! Groupon, Travelocity, and Expedia usually have really good deals!
